Young Adults Therapy

What is Young Adult Therapy?

Young adulthood is a time of growth, exploration, and change. Typically spanning the ages of 18 to 25, this stage of life involves major transitions such as leaving home, starting University or a career, forming new relationships, and figuring out personal identity, life direction and leaving that space that is called home.  While it’s an exciting time, it also comes with it’s own challenges.

Many young adults experience pressure to succeed academically or professionally, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and burnout. They may also struggle with self-esteem, identity, and body image issues, especially in the age of social media. Mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and loneliness are increasingly common during this period.

Treating Young Adults

Financial stress is another key issue, as young adults begin managing money, student debt, and the rising cost of living.  These days it is hard to move out of the family home to rent or buy a place of their own. Building and maintaining healthy relationships with friends, family, or romantic partners can also be a source of confusion or conflict. On top of that, the pressure to “have it all figured out” can feel overwhelming.

Despite these challenges, young adulthood is also a time of incredible opportunity for growth and self-discovery. With support, and open conversations, young adults can build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and move confidently into the next phase of life.
